Software
Like most MSI products the MEG Trident X2 Gaming PC can be controlled by using the MSI Center software. Now you can run the system no problem without this software, but I would recommend running it if you want to customize certain things. You are prompted to install this software on your initial first power-on.
The software has many different “Feature Sets” that work with different parts of the system.
One of the most useful is “User Scenario” where you can set a certain scenario for the system depending on what you are doing.
There is also a hardware monitoring built in. This will show you your clock speeds, fan speeds, temperatures, voltages, and usage stats.
HMI 2.0
One of the coolest features of this system is the 4.5-inch touchscreen display on the front of the system. MSI calls this their “Human Machine Interface” or HMI. This display can be used to show stats, play a rotating video, display an image, and so much more. It has a full menu system where you can do things like launch applications, control music, change RGB lighting settings, set the user scenario and more.

In the MSI Center software there is an entire section where you can configure what is being shown on the LCD.
RGB Lighting
When it comes to RGB lighting on the unit there is a pretty simple RGB strip that sort of separates the two sides on the system on the front.

This RGB section is a single channel, but it can be controlled using the MSI Center software.
